From May 22 to 24, 2026, young Cameroonians from across Canada and the United States came to Calgary for This is Cameroon ’26, the first Cameroonian National Youth Convention, hosted by CYAC.
Three days to remember
Friday opened with a sold-out meet and greet and the premiere of Mbenguiste, our first feature film, written and acted by CYAC members. The night ended with an afterparty.
Saturday brought CamYouth Connect, a networking conference on the theme “Breaking Through”, with Cameroonian professionals from three generations. In the evening, four teams played for the cup in the National CamYouth Soccer Tournament at Rotary Challenger Park, followed by game night.
Sunday was Achombo, a Cameroonian brunch with chef Shu, and the Red Carpet Gala.
Thank you
To our sister associations from Edmonton, Ontario, Ottawa-Gatineau and Southern California, to our partners, and to everyone who came: thank you. Photos by Chris Jordan Photography, video by Sonjong Media.
