About CYAC
Our commitment
Why we exist, where we are going, and the values that guide every program, project and event.
Our vision
A legacy of excellence where the Cameroonian youth of Calgary transcend barriers, redefine leadership and serve as a powerful voice for progress, in the Cameroonian diaspora and in the Canadian community.
Our mission
To be the catalyst for the social and economic advancement of Cameroonian youth in Calgary. Through advocacy, networking and heritage-based programs, we bridge cultural preservation and successful integration, so our youth become active, influential contributors to Calgary.
Our values
Seven values, one motto: Empower, Educate, Excel.
Love
We look out for each other like family.
Respect
For every region, language and story.
Integrity
We do what we say, and we are open about how.
Empowerment
Every member leaves stronger than they came.
Commitment
We show up, event after event, year after year.
Inclusion
Francophone, anglophone, newcomer or born here: all welcome.
Freedom
To be fully Cameroonian and fully Canadian.
See our values at work
Every project since 2020 is a promise kept: from our first volunteer day at the Mustard Seed to the first national convention for Cameroonian youth in Canada.
