Who we are
The Cameroonian Youth Association of Calgary is a non-profit society founded on July 5, 2020 by about ten young Cameroonians. Today we are 83 members, francophone and anglophone, building a home away from home in Calgary.
A safe space for the Cameroonian bloodline
We bring together Calgarians of Cameroonian heritage, whatever their region, ethnicity or language, to keep the values of our motherland alive and to help each other grow. As Canadians we are proud of our country’s diversity. As Cameroonians we bring our own talent, culture and energy to it.
Our motto is simple: Empower, Educate, Excel.

Recognition
In 2024 CYAC was named one of the winners of the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.): Bridge and Build, from the Foundation for Black Communities and the Government of Canada.
In 2026 we hosted This is Cameroon ’26, the first national convention for Cameroonian youth in Canada, with sister associations from across North America.
